Marking President Clinton’s his first debacle in the White House, the project exposed the true victims of his Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell policy. Lesbians of color were being expelled from the American military at a much higher rate than the white enlisted men focused on by the media. By inserting a trio of vengeful butchs into the action genre, DAM advertised a film that we as lesbians would love to see but never would.
